‘The mind in a cave, out of your mind at a rave’

JARV IS… performed their album ‘Beyond The Pale’ in full deep in a cave in the Peak District. The album is inspired by the evolution of people, society and the world, so that’s where the lighting design came from. R&Ding diffractions, light, lasers and reflections at home during the Coronavirus lockdown brought a wealth of new ideas to the table. These experiments beautifully aligned with the Domestic Discos that Jarvis had been streaming on Instagram. For the shoot we upscaled this ‘home-made entertainment’ leading to the exciting juxtaposition of cutting edge technology in the environment where the earliest examples of human art were discovered: the home of the Palaeolithic People - the Cave.
